Week 38: What's Happening

How Far Along:  38 weeks 2 day (just 4  Days till we meet our little angel!)

Baby's size: approx 19.5" around 6.8 lbs - the size of a Pumpkin.
(Which is literally the size that I feel my belly is!)

Total Weight Gain: 31.5 lbs

Maternity Clothes? No other options these days!

Stretch Marks? YES. :( but not too bad.

Best Moment this Week: got to get my teeth cleaned! :) you have no idea how excited I was. This girl loves her dentist, and looks forward to her cleanings every year! AND I went and saw Catching Fire with Dovey! We went to the early morning showing and had the theatre to ourselves. I had my feet up most of the time and was using him as my couch but I got to see the one movie I had been waiting for all year long!

Miss Anything? Sleeping in bed. Sushi. Champagne. The ability to move around without being an invalid. Less than a week left of this disability before my healing process begins!  :)

Movement: She is running out of room and it's obvious because she's been right smack in the middle this week... sitting on my spine and pushing out on my lungs!

Food Cravings: Mac and Cheese and ice cream. :) guess I have been in need of comfort foods this week.

What Makes you Queasy: Chicken of course... lack of food is second. Greasy foods are next on the list! (Same)

Gender: It's a girl!

Labor signs? None this week... THANK GOODNESS. But the csection is scheduled for 8 am Saturday so we should be getting to know each other by 10am!

Symptoms: still having the pain in my upper abdomen but a regimen of Tylenol has been helping.  It'll be nice when the Tylenol isn't necessary. Otherwise my symptoms include morning sickness (Yes. Still!) Waddling (more than ever since she's dropped) discomfort (to the extreme) lack of sleep (maybe 3 hrs at a time if I'm lucky) and being on bedrest (against my deepest desires to go for a walk!).

Wedding Rings On or Off?  Off, no sense blinging it up while on bedrest. Even the lia sophia ring has been put to rest for now.

Mood: I was so frustrated this week because for the first time on bedrest I actually FEEL disabled. It's gotten harder to do anything and everything. I'm miserable when I'm dependent on others. It reminds me of when I was suffering after my broken ankle. Thankfully she will be here Saturday and then the healing process can begin. Just 2.5 weeks before I'll be allowed to drive again!

What's the Daddy-to-be Doing?  Jeremy has been so great! He is always there to help me stand up and bring me more water or food. He's been putting up with my misery like a champ. He still won't leave me alone so yesterday I had a Manda-sitter (my sister in law Tina. We had fun!) and today Alicia is coming,  and then Thursday my sister Cres will be back. I am glad to have people around to help so that he can finish up the emergency work stuff before he starts his leave of absence on Monday. He's been so worried about this one school that kept delaying but had to be completed before year end. Now he should be all good!

Notes to the Little One: When the doctor confirmed your appointment and told us a little bit about the plan for Saturday your dad and I stopped and looked at each other. He told the doctor that NOW he was nervous! The doctor smiled and said it would be easier than building a coup for Bitsy! Hehe. So funny!

I think once your here our nerves will settle. Daddy doesn't like hospitals,  especially after our scare a few weeks back. He was so worried that he was going to lose us both! Once were both okay and safely in his arms he will calm down again.

The doctor said he hopes that we will be able to come home Monday... which is a very special day for Daddy and I! It's December 23rd,  Christmas Eve's Eve. It's the day your daddy asked me to marry him in 2010 -The day we started planning our forever life together. (It's also your cousin Joan's 2nd birthday!)

This means we'll all be home for Christmas too! Enjoying every moment with the most special Christmas present we will ever receive... YOU! Just when we thought our lives couldn't get any better... here you come! We are so excited and feel so very blessed.

Week 37: What's Happening!

How Far Along:  37 weeks 1 day (12 Days till we meet our little angel!)

She is laying on her side, forehead to the right - check out those Chubby Cheeks! :)

Baby's size: approx 18.9" around 6.2 lbs - the size of a large Winter Melon.
In case your curious - we have a little meter at the bottom of the blog that shows the photos of the vegetables that we are referring to in her sizes. :)

The belly and Violette's balloon mobile. :)

Total Weight Gain: 30 lbs - No change since last week!

Maternity Clothes? No other options these days!

Stretch Marks? YES. :(

Best Moment this Week: happened a few minutes ago! Doctor said that I am FULL TERM! I'm still on 'modified bed rest' and so that means that I am safe to get my teeth cleaned at the dentist, and even go to a movie! :) But only small spurts of activity, very spread out. With the amount of pain I am still in - he doesn't want me to overdo it. BUT IT'S SOMETHING! I am sooooo excited! :)

Miss Anything? My friends and family - this week should be good though, I get to see Cres and Alicia - and possibly Agnes and Chrissy! :)

Movement: She still does backflips and punches and kicks - she is definitely getting cozy in there though... she looked so comfy in today's ultrasound!

Food Cravings: Soup. Probably because it is SO DARN COLD. :)

What Makes you Queasy: Chicken of course... lack of food is second. Greasy foods are next on the list!

Gender: It's a girl! (Today Doctor said, "Yep. Still a Girl!" haha, GOSH I hope so! Her room has all kinds of purple! :D)

Labor signs? None this week... THANK GOODNESS. But the pain is excruciating.

Symptoms: Pain in my upper region - doc ruled out liver problems (hooray!) but that leaves gallbladder issues. He said once she is born they will probably dissipate because right now everything is so constricted that the natural functions are limited. I hope so - this pain is NOT FUN.

Wedding Rings On or Off?  Off, no sense blinging it up while on bedrest.

Mood: I have been okay this week - Alicia came to visit (Manda-sit) last week, and we got to catch up a little bit. And this week I have people coming to see me too, which makes me happy! Bedrest is boring and it was definitely getting to me! And Jeremy was adamant about me following docs orders to the letter so I had little outside time, or walking time, or standing time for the last two weeks! I am glad that it's been modified so that I can at least try to start my bunting project - at least the cutting part! :)

What's the Daddy-to-be Doing? He is super nervous about the change of plans - switching from complete bedrest to modified. He still wants the baby to stay in as long as she can - which I get! He is not happy about my dentist appointment, LOL! He said that the way they make you sit is awkward and will be painful - and I told him that I would just make them move the chair. They will accommodate my needs, I am not worried. He still doesn't want to leave me alone - understandably. I am still not allowed to drive, and being only 12 days from baby, he doesn't want me to go into labor and not make it to the hospital in time. I can't believe its only 12 days! Time to start freaking out! LOL ;)

Notes to the Little One: Okay Violette, Doctor says you are the one calling the shots now, but we would still like you to stay put until your planned date if possible... one week early is still better than two or three! You will be excited to know that we have hung your beautiful mobile - though the bunting portion has yet to be made. Dad also hung the monitor so that we can keep an eye on you - it's kind of an eyesore right now - but I am working on a plan to make it a little less obnoxious! LOL.

All of your laundry is put away - thanks to some help from Auntie Alicia :) - and sized and separated by style. Your car seat is installed properly - in both cars! - and our hospital bags are packed. We even have your rocking chairs in the bedroom and living room! (Thank you Auntie Agnes and Uncle Nick!) Everything is coming together - and the only missing link is you! Can't wait to see your chubby cheeks in person!

The doctor joked that a few weeks ago you were READY TO COME OUT and now it's looking like you'll wait for him to come and get you! :) He was very impressed with your change of plans. Ohhh the foreshadowing that I see... hehe.

Until next week, or sooner!
We love you!

WEEK 36: What's Happening

How Far Along:  36 weeks 1 day (18 Days till we meet our little angel!)
She was sleeping when he took the photo - forehead is to the right top :)

Baby's size: approx 18.7" around 5.8 lbs - the size of a large Butternut Squash.
In case your curious - we have a little meter at the bottom of the blog that shows the photos of the vegetables that we are referring to in her sizes. :)

That's the belly - it's gotten bigger! Only the belly this time because my photographer (DAD!) was in a hurry!

Total Weight Gain: 30 lbs - Doc says I am still right on par!

Maternity Clothes? No other options these days!

Stretch Marks? YES. :(

Best Moment this Week: Thanksgiving was nice - a break from bedrest... plus we got to see baby Andres and our friends Linda & Greg and Jeremy's sister Tina :) It was close by and we were able to partake in the festivities for a bit and enjoy a delightful meal.

Miss Anything? Going for walks, or doing just about anything actually. Bedrest is terribly boring!

Movement: A bit less than before, which tells me she's running out of space, but I still feel her moving quite a bit, about every hour a twist a punch or a kick.

Food Cravings: I am still very jealous of anyone who can eat sushi, but lately I have been craving salads and broccoli and brussels sprouts.

What Makes you Queasy: Chicken of course... lack of food is second. But the 'low fat' and 'sugar free' stuff tastes super toxic to me - so I feel sick after I eat any of them.

Gender: It's a girl!

Labor signs? None this week... THANK GOODNESS. But the pain is still there.

Symptoms: Pain in my upper region - doc says its possibly a liver problem or a gallbladder issue. He ran some tests and we shall see what the final word is by the end of the week.

Wedding Rings On or Off?  Off, but still wearing Lia Sophia ring :)

Mood: I have only been this bored one time in my life before - when I was laid up with my busted ankle for MONTHS. A little over a week has passed on bedrest this time around and I am already stir crazy. I feel like I am alone most of the time, even though Jeremy is home, he is in his office all day long. I have been lucky enough to have a few visitors - Tina came to see me (ah hemn... babysit me... when Jeremy had to work offsite) last tuesday and wednesday... and today Margarita came to visit me for a little bit during her lunch hour. :) It was a great treat! I missed seeing my friend everyday! I am glad that she was able to stop by!

What's the Daddy-to-be Doing? He is pretty stressed out - making sure that I don't do ANYTHING that would break the doctors orders. We are both pretty worried about her coming too early, so I understand - he doesn't want her to have any of the asthmatic issues that he had due to his early start.

He barely lets me sit a the dinner table! He wants me to even eat on the couch with my feet up! I drew the line there - I can't eat laying down... I am already a mess - let's not cause me to drop food all over myself! I am not allowed to fold clothes or do anything really - aside from sit at the dinner table, go to the restroom, or lay on the couch/bed.

I am looking forward to the doctor telling me I can go on 'modified' bedrest after we hit the 37 week mark - where I can do some of these light duty things and can slowly prepare for the baby that is coming!

Notes to the Little One: Well kiddo... it has been an uneventful week for the two of us. We basically sit and watch TV, or read magazines or books. Finally after going a bit stir crazy I talked your dad into investing in a coloring book and a sudoku puzzle book for me. Since we can't be out and about - at least our creative and logical brain functions will be challenged!

I know I just said that you only move about once an hour, but you have been moving for about 20 minutes now! My belly is doing the wave something crazy!

Only 4 more days until we are in the 'safe zone'! Your daddy still wants me to sit tight after we hit that point, knowing how important it is that you stay put until our original c-section date. I will of course continue to take it easy, but I feel like we are falling behind on our to-do list because we are stranded on the couch. There isn't much left to do - but it does need to get done! Here's hoping we get that chance!

This momma is tired... gonna go rest for a bit. I think this is the longest it's taken me to write a blog post since we've began! And it's a day late - because yesterday was a lot for me too. The end is near! Hoping to meet you in 18 days, but even if you come earlier - I will give you the biggest snuggle ever then! :)
